Facebook Unleashes Powerful Marketing Tool: Page Post Targeting By Age, Gender, Likes, and More
I think this represents a shift in the way that businesses approach their Facebook strategy. Because of the different algorithms Facebook utilizes to display content to fans, brands are coming to the realization that content from a single fan Page with a large, engaged audience has far more reach and visibility than multiple Pages with fewer fans and less engagement. In the past this has come at the cost of finely targeted content.
It appears that Facebook is continuing to develop towards this model. This will encourage brands to focus on a single (or a select few) brand hub by giving businesses the tools they need to speak to nuanced audiences through one mouthpiece.
